Patrick Lane gave a very moving address to University of Victoria graduates when he was recently awarded an honorary doctorate.  It was published by the Times Colonist.

At Speak to the Wild, I mentioned that I’d just learned of a proposed pipeline through the Khutzeymateen Grizzly sanctuary.  A student of mine has been working on this issue and I am happy to report that the company has withdrawn its application.  However, we’ve learned there are more pipelines proposed for other protected areas, in the rush to develop Liquified Natural Gas (LNG).  Here are two Vancouver Sun articles for those interested.
